Be a Valentine to the Society
"Be a Valentine to the Society" was the message of SIO during its demonstrations held at campuses in Ahmedabad and Baroda on 14th February 2011. SIO urged the students to stay away from obscenity and materialism being spread in the name of the Valentine's Day. SIO distributed pocket size booklets advocating the messages of modesty and appealing students to take oath for positive contribution towards society. SIO reached out to thousands of students during its demonstrations held near Sidi Saiyed Mosque and M.S.University in Vadoara.

STUDENTS DISTROYED THE VALENTINE’S GIFT
Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) Mumbra demonstrated against the contemporary Valentine’s Day.
A grand protest was organized in front to M. S. College and Kalsekar Degree College Mumbra on 14 Feb, at 10.00 am to 12.30 pm to highlight the ill effects of celebration of valentine day and to convince the Students and youth not to celebrate.
“The celebration of Valentine’s Day is against our culture, its nothing but commercial exploitation of our emotions. We believe that such activities will erode moral and family values, so we should not waste our time, energy and money on celebrating Valentine ’s Day. ” Opined Hamidullah Shaikh (President, SIO Mumbra).
Many students of M. S. college and Kalsekar College Mumbra destroyed their gift and put into fire to support the awareness movement of SIO and these students also promised that they will not celebrate valentine day anymore.

As we know 14th February is celebrated as Valentines day.
According to history in 270A.D a person known as Mr.valentine use to arrange marriages secretly for youngsters who where indulged in so called love(ishqq) & the parents not happy with the relationship.When the ruler of that time roman emperor Claudius II came to know about these secret activities of Mr. valentine,he noticed that the atmosphere of the state is getting vulgar,and being a responsible ruler of the nation he ordered to hang Mr. valentine.Later some Christians priests gave Mr.valentine the title of martyr(shaheed) & in his memory every year on 14th feb,the day is celebrated as Valentines day by making atmosphere vulgar with yellow & red flowers.
A criminal is punished for his sins,but others instead of taking lesson from it,they are celebrating in his memory.
THIS IS TRUTH BEHIND VALENTINES DAY.

It should be a day that you dedicate to others, to the ones you love, and they, in return, will make their day about you. Sometimes it requires taking a step back and making this day about others so that we can benefit from their happiness. Valentine’s Day should be exactly what you want it to be.

When did Valentine’s Day turn into such a sad and complicated day for so many people? Indeed, it seems to be a depressing day for those who don’t have a significant other. This holiday has been heavily commercialized as a day for couples only. I, however, grew up believing that Valentine’s Day is “el día del amor y la amistad”—the day of love and friendship. Having this perspective, I believe, is the best way to think of this holiday because you will always have a reason to celebrate this.Even though many people say that every day should be the day of love and friendship, we have to admit that our routines sometimes do not allow us to appreciate the friends and partners we have. Therefore, it is nice to have a day that you can dedicate to your friends and significant others. Valentine’s Day should be a day in which you celebrate friendship and all types of love. It should be a day that you dedicate to others, to the ones you love, and they, in return, will make their day about you. Sometimes it requires taking a step back and making this day about others so that we can benefit from their happiness. Valentine’s Day should be exactly what you want it to be.

Celebrating Valentine's Day
Praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the Worlds, and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his family and companions.
Allaah has chosen for us Islam as our religion and He will not accept any other religion from anyone, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):
"And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers [Aal 'Imraan 3:85]
And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told us that groups of his ummah would follow the enemies of Allaah in some of their rituals and customs, as it says in the hadeeth of Abu Sa'eed al-Khudri (may Allaah be pleased with him), who narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "You will certainly follow the ways of those who came before you, span by span, cubit by cubit, until even if they were to enter a lizard's hole, you would follow them." We said, "O Messenger of Allaah, (do you mean) the Jews and Christians?" He said, "Who else?!"

VALENTINE€™S DAY PROMOTES PROMISCUITY AND IMMORALITY AMONG YOUTH
Students Islamic Organisation of India (Mumbai Division) plans to observe “Brotherhood day†against the contemporary Valentine’s Day.
For this a peaceful protest will be organized at Bandra Station on 13 Feb, 4 pm-5 pm to highlight the ill effects of celebration of valentine day.
“The celebration of Valentine’s Day is nothing, but giving open license to the youth to indulge in immoral acts. We believe that such activities will erode moral and family values, which ultimately promotes promiscuity among youth†Opined Abdul Qadeer (President SIO Mumbai)
Now, Muslim oufit opposes Valentine’s Day
Jamaat’s student wing SIO will organise anti-Valentine’s Day in college campuses and other places in several states on February 14. Given the backlash against vigilante groups, leaders of the Students Islamic Organisation say their activities would be peaceful and they have no intention of moral policing.
SIO, which labels itself an ideological organisation working to prepare students and youth for reconstruction of the society under “divine guidance”, will also be organising brotherhood day and solidarity day in states like Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu to raise awareness against Valentine’s Day.
